Palisade, Colo. –After more than a decade of making wine in the heart of Colorado’s wine and fruit country, Meadery ofthe Rockies earned distinction from The Mazer Cup International 2010 Awards Competition held on March 26 and 27 in Boulder, Colorado. Meadery of the Rockies earned four medals at the event. The competition, which attracts professional meaderies and home mead enthusiasts from around the world, boasted record numbers of entries this year. The competition is the world’s best recognized and most prominent mead competition and draws judges from North America and Europe, along with professional mead makers and dignitaries who also compose the prestigious pool of judges. Their Blackberry Satin and Lancelot wines took second place for silver medals and their Raspberry Chocolate Satin and Guinevere both received bronze medals for third place. Now, with four medals from an international event, Meadery of the Rockies invites the public to stop by for a sample ofthese award winners. Meadery of the Rockies is located at 3701 G RD in Palisade. Visitors can watch the production staff mix up or bottle one of their special creations or lift a glass to commemorate their prize winning wines.
